LALIQUE ART UNVEILS “THE PROMISE” AND “THE SEDUCER”, TWO ICONIC MAGRITTE WORKS REIMAGINED IN CRYSTAL

Launch: July 2026

In 2026, Lalique Art continues the collaboration initiated in 2023 with the Magritte Succession, giving life to two major crystal artworks: The Promise and The Seducer. Inspired by iconic paintings by René Magritte, these creations extend the painter’s surrealist universe through light and matter.

Suspended between sky and sea, the visible and the invisible, these works invite silent contemplation, where meaning eludes and reinvents itself with every gaze.

THE PROMISE, A POETIC ASCENT

Inspired by a 1950 artwork, The Promise depicts a dove traversed by an azure sky, set in contrast against night and a restless sea. Crafted in satin-finished and polished blue crystal, the sculpture reveals striking depth, enhanced by the transparency and luminous effects distinctive to Lalique crystal.

Shaped using the lost-wax casting technique, each piece is unique, bearing witness to the exceptional glassmaking savoir-faire of the Maison.

THE SEDUCER, BETWEEN MYSTERY AND METAMORPHOSIS

Inspired by the 1953 painting, The Seducer portrays a sailing ship absorbed by the waves, merging with the sea itself. Transposed into crystal, the work becomes a sculptural enigma, where background and form dissolve into a poetic and unsettling vision.

The richness of the detailing and the mastery of finishes reveal the full expressive power of crystal, placed at the service of Magritte’s imagination.
