Two heritage houses, one poetic masterpiece: the Japanese High Jeweller Mikimoto and the French crystal maker Lalique unveil an exclusive fragrance creation that brings together fine craftsmanship, artistic legacy, and the spirit of nature.
Mikimoto and Lalique present Fortune Leaves, Crystal Edition: this inaugural creation unites two houses known for their exceptional heritage and craftsmanship in an artistic alliance that celebrates beauty, nature, and savoir-faire.
The collaboration between the two houses began several years ago, when Mikimoto first entrusted Lalique to design a chandelier for its bridal salon in Ginza, Tokyo. The resulting piece, Cloud of Clovers, became a symbol of shared artistic values and laid the creative foundation for Fortune Leaves – a continuation of that dialogue, now expressed through fragrance and crystal.
An Ode to Happiness
The crystal flacon, imagined by Marc Larminaux, Artistic and Creative Director at Lalique, takes the shape of a radiant pearl bordered by a delicate field of clovers. Sculpted with exceptional precision, the bottle is a testament to Lalique’s mastery. Each base is mouth-blown into a custom mould. The cap, covered in clovers, is crafted using the historic lost-wax technique initially explored by René Lalique in 1893, allowing for fine detail and individuality in every piece. A four-leaf clover, seamlessly embedded on the flacon and only revealed by the lifting of the cap, adds a symbolic layer of luck and promise. The flacon is presented in a whitened maple wood case, resting on pearlescent suede, nestled within a cloud of clovers.
“This design was inspired by the enchanting moment of discovering a four-leaf clover – an unexpected symbol of luck and beauty. We brought this vision to life through the exceptional craftsmanship of Lalique, from the initial sketches and sculpting to the intricate glassmaking techniques. The result is a poetic and captivating piece that embodies the elegance and artistry at the heart of Lalique.”
Marc Larminaux, Artistic and Creative Director Lalique
The Essence of an Enchanted Garden
The fragrance itself, composed by perfumer Alex Lee from Mane, opens with the earthy green notes of angelica seed and lentisque absolute. A touch of pink peppercorn brightens the top, followed by floral and aquatic nuances that suggest a garden still glistening with morning dew. Orris concrete and ambrette seed bring depth and softness, echoing the roundness and sheen of a pearl. The result is a silky, lingering trail – refined and luminous, like a story suspended in time.
Top Notes: Angelica seeds EO, Pink peppercorn
Heart Notes: Lentisque absolute, Angelica roots EO, Orris concrete
Base Notes: Mineral rose accord, Ambrette absolute, Musks
With Fortune Leaves, Mikimoto begins a new olfactory chapter. Conceived as a talisman and collector’s object, this edition lays the foundation for a lasting connection, that brings Mikimoto’s poetic vision into the world of scent.
This limited edition of 10 pieces worldwide will be available End of September in selected Lalique and Mikimoto boutiques.
RRP: 21’000 GBP
